Troubleshooting Sound Issues

Game feeling a little too quiet? If punches aren’t landing with impact or the music’s gone missing, it might just be a sound setting (not your speakers giving up). Follow the steps below to get the volume cranked back up and the fight sounding as good as it feels.

Verify in-game/in-client audio settings

  • Make sure the sound is not disabled in the in-game options
  • Make sure no sounds are set to 0
  • Make sure the audio output device is set to default system device or a specific device that the you are using

Check Windows mixer levels

  1. Right-click the speaker icon on your windows taskbar
  2. Click Open volume mixer
  3. Make sure the game isn't muted or low volume

Windows Output Settings

  1. Right-click your speaker icon on your task bar and click Playback Devices
  2. Left click your headphones and click Set Default on the bottom to ensure your device is set as your default playback device
  3. Now right-click your headphones and go to Properties
  4. Go to the Advanced tab and under Exclusive Mode, un-check Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device
  5. Click Apply and OK

Disable Surround Sound

Some sound cards support surround sound. This essentially allocates certain sound effects to rear speakers. If you have this mode enabled without using surround sound speakers, you can end up losing many sounds, as they'll be allocated to speakers which you don't have.
