2XKO - Local Duo Play

We all know this: the best gaming experience is the one enjoyed with friends. That's why 2XKO features Local Duo, allowing you to share your device (PC or console) with a buddy for some tag-team action.

How can I play in Local Duo?

Local Duo Accidentally Enabled

If you’re playing solo and you suddenly get the Local Duo feature during Champion select, it’s likely that a secondary controller was pressed by accident. Remove the local duo player by pressing the Back button and check if there are other input devices connected to your device.

For starters, the host player (the one using the main controller) must be logged in and enter an available cabinet in a lobby. Once you reach the Champion Select screen, your friend can join with their input device depending on your platform.

These are the Local Duo options for the guest player:

  • For Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation®5, press the Home button to select the platform profile. Then, input any button in the Champion Selection screen to join; press any input again to confirm, and you are good to go!
  • For PC, just input any button in the Champion Selection screen
Xbox Series X|SPlayStation®5PC
You can use a guest account or log into your own Xbox account. You must log into your PSN account (PlayStation Plus is not needed).Plug your controller, and you are good to go—no login required!

Remember: You can set your controllers before the action starts! Just be sure to either configure them in advance within the profile settings, or change them during the Champion Selection screen.

Once you're in the match, everything works as usual. When the game ends and you return to the lobby, the Local Duo session ends and the guest player is removed (but you can always jump back into the fray and join again!).

Can I use my content if I'm the guest?

No. When using Local Duo, only the content owned by the host account is available; this includes Champions, skins, chromas, and more. Even if the guest player logs into their own Riot Account, they will not have access to their personal collection.

Additionally, while both players contribute towards game progression, it only counts towards the host account. This includes:

  • Missions
  • Battle Pass XP earned
  • Champion Mastery
  • Achievements; for platform-specific achievements (like PlayStation trophies), only the progression from the host account counts towards it

Can I use my keyboard with Local Duo on my PC?

Yes! However, in PC the keyboard + the first controller are always recognized as the host player. So, to freely use the keyboard you'll need to plug a controller you won't be using, and another one for your friend.
